1. Scope
This policy applies to Lalaland services. It does not cover websites, venues, hosts, payment providers, or other services that have their own privacy policies.
Short version: Lalaland collects the information needed to operate accounts, events, community features, safety tools, and optional identity checks. We do not sell personal information.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Email address, authentication credentials, and Apple sign-in identifiers where you choose Apple sign-in.
- Date of birth, city, username, display name, profile photo, biography, interests, and your community eligibility confirmation.
- Profile visibility choices, follows, connections, and account settings.
Events and community activity
- Events you create, join, save, or host, including descriptions, venues, schedules, questions, attendance status, and tickets.
- Messages, announcements, reports, blocks, moderation records, and support communications.
- Advertising SDK data such as device information, IP-derived general location, ad interactions, diagnostics, and consent choices. Lalaland requests non-personalized ads and does not request iOS tracking permission for advertising.
- Public profile links and QR routes use your public username rather than your email or private contact details.
Location information
If you use Nearby, we process device location to rank events by distance. Hosts may provide event venue coordinates. Public pages can show a city or approximate area while exact details may be limited to confirmed members.
Device and service information
We and our service providers may process IP address, session identifiers, device and operating-system information, request logs, crash information, and security events needed to run and protect the service.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure your account and provide authentication.
- Display profiles and events according to visibility and membership settings.
- Manage joining, approvals, waitlists, tickets, attendance, notifications, chat, and hosting tools.
- Rank nearby events and enforce location-visibility choices.
- Investigate reports, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, and protect members.
- Show and measure limited advertising on discovery and following feeds. Ads are not shown on tickets, check-in, safety, report, support, legal, or identity-check screens.
- Respond to support requests, maintain reliability, and improve the service.
- Comply with law and defend legal rights.
5. Optional identity check
You may choose to submit a short, silent selfie video that follows two random movement prompts. An authorised Lalaland reviewer checks whether the video appears fresh and shows a real person completing those movements.
- No government ID or audio is requested.
- The check does not confirm legal identity, age, gender, or that a person has only one account.
- An approved check adds the label Identity checked to your profile.
- The video is stored privately, available only to authorised reviewers, and deleted after a decision, withdrawal, or within 48 hours of submission.
- We retain the review outcome, reason code, and audit record without retaining the video.
You can withdraw a pending request in the app. Deletion is attempted immediately, with an automated purge as a backup.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, including while your account is active and for reasonable periods needed for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
- Optional identity-check videos follow the shorter limit described above.
- Account deletion can be initiated from Settings in the app.
- When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymise associated personal information and user-generated content unless retention is legally required or reasonably necessary for unresolved safety, fraud, or dispute matters.
- Backups and distributed systems may take additional time to cycle out securely.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Edit profile and privacy settings in the app.
- Control camera, photo, notification, and location permissions in device settings.
- Withdraw a pending identity check in the app.
- Delete your account from Settings.
- Contact support for a privacy request or appeal.
We may need to verify your request before acting on it. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Age and younger members
Lalaland currently requires members to be at least 12 years old. Age, parental-consent, and safeguarding requirements vary by country. We may limit availability, request consent, or apply additional protections where local law requires it. If you believe a younger child has provided information improperly, contact support.
9. Security and international transfers
We use access controls, private storage, encryption in transit, restricted administrator access, and retention limits designed to protect information. No system is completely secure.
Lalaland and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use recognised contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
